Tape Measure Test is a free educational practice tool for learning to read ruler and tape-measure scales.

Educational use

You may use the exercises for personal learning, classroom practice and informal skill review. No account or payment is required to use the practice tool. Teachers may link to the site and use it in lessons.

Use a real tool for real measurements

The on-screen diagrams change size to fit your display and are not calibrated. Do not use them to measure an object, set the dimensions of a real part or check a measuring instrument. Use an appropriate physical tool and the instructions that apply to your task.

The exercises cover selected ruler-reading skills. They do not replace practical instruction in safe tool use, manufacturing tolerances, construction, surveying or other professional work. A score is informal feedback, not certification.

Accuracy and availability

We aim to keep the exercises and explanations correct. Errors, browser differences or interruptions can still occur. Verify information before relying on it for a real task, and report suspected errors so they can be checked.

Features and content may change. The site does not promise uninterrupted availability or permanent storage of your local results. Your browser controls local data, and there is no cloud backup.

Original content and references

The site's written lessons, interface and illustrations are original materials. You may share links and refer students to the guides. External references, trademarks and linked websites belong to their respective owners; a link does not imply endorsement or affiliation.

Respectful use

Use the site in a way that does not disrupt its operation or other people's access. Do not submit abusive messages or send sensitive personal information through the contact email.
